Julian Louie
Julian Louie was born and raised in Santa Cruz, California, and came to New York to study architecture at Cooper Union. After completing his degree he was selected by Francisco Costa to participate in the Italian Vogue/AWI-sponsored “Protégé Project” for which he designed a collection that was shown in Florence, Tokyo, and Sydney. He debuted his eponymous label in Spring 2009. For Fall 2010 he started a collaboration with Aldo and was the designer collaboration to go to retail, launching in 300 international stores for spring2011.
Louie’s work has been featured in numerous publications including Vogue, Vogue Italia, W, ELLE, The New York Times, The NYT T Style Magazine, V Magazine, and Dazed and Confused.
