The Glamour of Italian Fashion at the V&A

05 April 2014 - 27 July 2014
In a pivotal new exhibition, the Victoria and Albert Museum will explore the creativity and global influence of Italian fashion from the 1940s up to the present day.

Beginning with the early ‘Sala Bianca’ catwalks in Florence – examining the influence of Hollywood stars that spent time in Italy, and particularly exploring the success and genius of a number of Italian fashion houses and designers – this new exhibition is the first major show to focus on Italian fashion from the end of the Second World War onwards. As part of the show, clothing and accessories from the likes of Armani, Prada, Versace, Giorgio Armani and Fendi will be displayed, while emphasis will also be placed on the country’s history of textile design.
