In Focus: Ansel Adams at the Getty Center

18 March 2014 - 20 July 2014
American nature and landscape photographer Ansel Adams will be celebrated in a brand new retrospective at the Getty Center.

Marking the 30th anniversary of the iconic photographer’s death, this new show, the first exhibition to be devoted solely to Adams at the Getty, focuses on a selection of the artist’s own favourite prints from across his oeuvre. At the end of his career, Adams hand-selected 70 pieces that represented highlights of his career – 25 of these were donated to the museum in 2011 and now make up the bulk of this new exhibition. The Getty is displaying these timeless images, including famous shots of Yosemite and the Sierra Nevadas, alongside earlier works in order to showcase the evolution of Adams’s style and method.
