Micol Assaël Exhibition

31 January 2014 - 04 May 2014
Opened a decade ago, HangarBicocca is a renowned destination in Milan for contemporary art. This new exhibition will see the venue present works by up-and-coming Italian artist Micol Assaël.

Born in 1979, the young artist spent much of her early years travelling the world; her first pieces include a series of drawings that date from this period. Assaël’s more recent works take inspiration from electrical and physical phenomena, and the artist sees the pieces as exploring human limitations spatially and cognitively. This show sees several large-scale installations – a room made of iron and charged with electrical currents; a sound installation of wooden walls punctured by panels of beeswax – displayed together for the first time.
