Cartier: Style & History

04 December 2013 - 16 February 2014
A glamorous new exhibition at the Grand Palais will examine
the history of Cartier, that most esteemed of jewellery houses.

Though it’s the glitz and sparkle of their most beautiful
items that tends to attract the most attention, the house of Cartier itself has
a long and rich history. This exhibition examines the founding of the house in
1847 and extends through its work in the 1970s, all with the aim of looking
into the inner-workings of a sophisticated jewellery company. Viewers will be
able to take in over 600 different exhibits, including diadems, glittering
watches, accessories, furniture, advertisements, paintings, and other
artefacts.
