Frida Kahlo/Diego Rivera: L’art en fusion

01 December 2013 - 13 January 2014
A groundbreaking new exhibition at the Musée de l’Orangerie
focuses on Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera, two renowned Mexican artists.

The exhibition is rare in that it showcases the works of the
two artists alongside each other. A notoriously tempestuous art world couple,
Kahlo and Rivera’s long relationship still beguiles viewers; in conversation
with one another, the artists’ pieces take on a new dimension when examined
through their personal interactions. Created in partnership with Mexico City’s Museo
Dolores Olmedo, the exhibition also looks at the artists’ time of separation,
their shared artistic themes of revolution and the mystical, and their deep-rooted
affinity with Mexico and its people.
