Cildo Meireles at HangarBicocca

27 March 2014 - 13 June 2014
Leading 20th century conceptual artist Cildo Meireles, who hails from Brazil, will be celebrated in an upcoming exhibition at Milan’s HangarBicocca.

One of the city’s top destinations for cutting-edge art, HangarBicocca will be showcasing a new version of the exhibition, which was previously on display in Madrid and Porto (Meireles was also celebrated in a 2008 Tate Modern retrospective). A key figure in the 1960s international scene, Meireles has experimented with colossal installations, participatory pieces and smaller, subtler works that challenge political oppression. This show contains a number of his large-scale pieces, including Marulho, a life-sized seaside dock that has been installed within the gallery space.
