Conditions of use
By purchasing a Gift Card from any Dorchester Collection hotel, you are agreeing to be bound by the following conditions of use. Please be aware that Dorchester Collection may update these conditions of use from time to time.
Dorchester Collection’s hotels offer two types of Gift Cards:
1. Gift Experience Gift Cards - These Gift Cards are branded with a single hotel name. They can only be purchased at that specific hotel or that hotel’s own online shop and redeemed at that specific hotel.
2. Monetary Gift Cards - These Gift Cards can be purchased at any Dorchester Collection hotel but are only redeemable in the country they were purchased.
Dorchester Collection Gift Cards are redeemable against direct hotel charges at Dorchester Collection hotels participating at the time of redemption. Please note that Dorchester Collection Gift Cards may not be used at certain outsourced facilities at participating hotels. Gift experiences, such as an afternoon tea or spa treatment, are purchased for a specific hotel may only be redeemed at that hotel.
Dorchester Collection Gift Cards may be purchased in Pounds Sterling, US Dollars, Euros and Swiss Francs. As stated above Monetary Gift Cards can only be redeemed in the country they were purchased.
Dorchester Collection Gift Cards are non-refundable and may not be exchanged for cash unless required by law. Guest charges in excess of the Gift Card's balance may be settled with cash, a major credit or charged to the room account for guests staying in the relevant Dorchester Collection hotel.
Dorchester Collection Monetary Gift Cards are designed to carry a balance, therefore, if a Monetary Gift Card is used to pay for something of lesser value than is stored on the card, the amount of the purchase will be subtracted and the remaining balance will stay on the card for future use. Partial redemption is not possible with Gift Experience Gift Cards, so no change will be given should the experience not be redeemed in full, unless required by law.
Monetary Gift Cards do not expire and have no annual or activation fees. Gift Experience Gift Cards expire one year after the date of purchase and cannot be redeemed after the expiry date unless your Gift Card was purchased in the US, where (by law) expiry dates do not apply.
Please note that all Gift Experience Gift Cards are subject to availability and must be booked in advance with the specific hotel. When you make your reservation you may be asked to provide the full Gift Card number so the value of the card can be verified. During certain promotional periods supplemental charges may apply but you will be made aware of any supplemental charges when you make your reservation.
