The Dorchester Collection | Yasmin Le Bon

Yasmin Le Bon

Le Bon"Mother of three and the face of two decades, there's only one Yasmin Le Bon"; this was the by-line of a “Harpers and Queen” cover story on Yasmin nearly a decade ago, and it rings as true today as it has for all of her career. She is a woman who, at 44, has truly retained her status as one of the original “supermodels”.

Growing up, her ambition was to become a professional racing driver, but in hopes of making some quick summer cash, she stopped by Models 1 in 1984, at the age of nineteen, and the rest, as they say, is history.  Her life quickly became a whirlwind of magazine covers, runway shows, exotic location shoots and consequently airport lounges!

But it wasn't just Yasmin’s stunning looks that earned her an almost instant success and fame including the title ; “The Face of The Eighties". Photographers, stylists, designers, indeed, all those associated with her working life never fail to comment on her professionalism and commitment.

To list all the highlights of her career would take too long, but throughout her legendary career she has worked with nearly every top photographer from Peter Lindbergh and Horst P Horst to Steven Meisel and Mario Testino; she was one of the most in demand models on the international runway scene, and was the face of campaigns of labels such as Yves Saint Laurent, Calvin Klein, Missoni, Lagerfeld and Ralph Lauren.

At the peak of her career, Yasmin moved back to London from New York to start a family with her husband, Simon Le Bon of Duran Duran, whom she married in 1985.  They have three daughters, Amber, Saffron, and Tallulah, they are the absolute pride of Yasmin's life.Yasmin is still as in demand as ever; the “noughties” have seen no slow down with campaigns for Chanel and Moet et Chandon and a cover of British Vogue in the Summer of 2007.

There is a tangible sense of being aspirational but attainable about this most beautiful of women; Beauty giant Avon saw this when they invited Yasmin to be the face of the brand this year; and perhaps most exciting for Yasmin herself; September 2009 see’s the launch of YLB her own clothing and accessories line for Wallis, very much a hands on designer, Yasmin has created “The wardrobe I want for myself”

This extraordinarily down to earth woman; wife, mother and inspirational model is also a trustee of the charity “Mothers with Children” and gives much of her time and efforts to the ongoing fight against breast cancer.  Yasmin continues to live in London with her family and dogs.
