Development Dorchester Collection is a portfolio of unique and iconic hotels. We are the only hotel company in the world with a consistent portfolio of true luxury properties. Our focus is on building the brand loyalty that has been established since the portfolio was created. We are committed to growing to 15-20 hotels in the next five years and aim to become an international brand, with hotels in all of the world’s key capital cities frequented by our existing loyal clientèle. The executive team is involved in every new project, from design to launch, to ensure our culture and values are embodied in every hotel. Growth In order for our hotels to succeed and drive the average rate required to justify the level of product and service that defines the Dorchester Collection brand, they must be in top locations in key cities. Our priority target markets include: North America: New York, Chicago, Washington DC, Boston South America: Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires Asia Pacific: Shanghai, Beijing, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Singapore, Sydney Europe: Madrid, Barcelona, Amsterdam, Moscow Middle East: Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Doha Deal structures and project types: Dorchester Collection is focused on growing its worldwide presence through management contracts. On an opportunistic basis, we will consider acquiring existing iconic luxury hotels in strategic locations. We will consider both existing hotels and new development opportunities, with or without a branded residential component. Key requirements Location The location within the destination must be the most sought-after address in the market, where the hotel will be able to sustain a 1-3 revPAR position. Design The architectural design of the building must be original and iconic, reflecting the essence and culture of its location, accompanied by an individual and heritage interior design. There is no defined style; both contemporary and classic hotels will be considered for the brand if suited to their location. Facilities The target size of our hotels is 150-250 keys, with a minimum of 25% suites and a minimum room size of 45m². Each hotel must become a ‘destination’ for the local market and have an acclaimed restaurant and bar. Residential We will consider managing hotels with a branded and serviced residential component, as long as the project is exclusive and the residential component is integrated with the hotel.
