Summer at The Dorchester

Summer is just around the corner, which has given us fresh inspiration for bringing beautiful blooms into the hotel. From floral-inspired afternoon tea to our own fragrant lobby garden, The Dorchester is alive with the joys of summer.

Warm Welcome

Lobby Garden

As you walk through the entrance, see our lobby area transformed into a beautiful summer garden and be greeted by the fragrance of fresh flowers. Trees surround the lobby and grass covers the floor, so you can still bask amongst nature, even indoors. Join us for the summer to experience this magical transformation of the hotel.

Bathtime bliss

Take bathtime bliss to a new level of luxury with herbs and flowers from our own Lobby Garden, created by designer florist Phil Hammond. Alive with fragrant rosemary, sage, jasmine, camomile, rose and lavender, our spa experts will create a bespoke bath infusion specially for you. Buttonhole bar

Royal Ascot is back, which means it’s time to don your finest top hats and tails for the best-dressed sporting event of the year. To help you dress for the occasion, we’re opening up our own buttonhole bar, where you can choose a fresh flower to complete your outfit.

Lemonade stand

There’s nothing like homemade lemonade on a hot summer’s day. To mark the return of Wimbledon this July, we’ll be handing out complimentary glasses of refreshing homemade lemonade from our stand in the lobby. The perfect thirst-quencher.

July 1 – 14

Seasonal afternoon tea

Our afternoon tea selection is looking beautiful this spring. Inspired by the floral displays you’ll spot around the hotel, our pastry team has expertly crafted colourful cakes, pastries and sandwiches to capture the flavours of the season. Enjoy the sweet selection with tea and a chilled glass of champagne for an unforgettable occasion.

Flower menu

This May, Jean-Philippe Blondet, executive chef at Alain Ducasse at The Dorchester, draws inspiration from the flavours of fresh seasonal ingredients with a floral-inspired lunch menu. Masterfully curated, the menu features dishes such as the flowering vegetable garden, and the floral lemon, English rose and fresh herb dessert by pastry chef Thibault Hauchard.

Manuka Rose Facial

Let us immerse you in the wonderful union of rose and Manuka honey, with our Carol Joy London facial, which includes a sugar scrub, honey mask and rose quartz roller. Finish with a calming cup of Tregothnan’s delicate rose tea.

Summer is nearly here, so our teams have been busy creating new immersive experiences inspired by wellbeing. Discover the blog where designer florist Phil Hammond teams up with spa director Sally Pedder to talk wellbeing, essential oils and reveal our own lobby garden where spa experts will be on hand to create aromatic bath infusions.
