5 steps to choosing the perfect mattress with Vispring
March 09, 2020
Comfort guaranteed
As the original inventors of the pocket spring mattress, for over 100 years Vispring has been creating high quality beds using expertly honed skills. Each mattress is carefully crafted in England and comes with an impressive 30-year guarantee.
How it began
At the turn of the 20th century, an English engineer called James Marshall offered his wife the most precious gift of all ‒ a perfect night’s sleep. His pioneering use of individually pocketed steel springs created unparalleled levels of comfort, making Vispring a byword for luxury.

Proven expertise
Vispring mattresses have graced first-class cabins in many liners including the Titanic and Queen Elizabeth II. They are also used at The Dorchester, 45 Park Lane and Coworth Park. Vispring’s master craftsmen make their own springs, giving them complete control over the entire manufacturing process. The technique for creating honeycomb-style links between the springs provides adjustable support and the ultimate comfort.
Natural materials
Every mattress is created to order using natural materials such as cashmere, mohair, wool, silk, bamboo, horsehair and, for their most high-end product, the rare and protected vicuna fleece. Skilled hand-stitching ensures quality and durability.
Long term comfort
Over time the natural materials settle and to adapt to your body shape so it’s a good idea to regularly rotate and flip your mattress. Vispring also creates dual tension mattresses for couple’s who like different types of support.

1. Try a number of beds
Nothing can replace trying out different mattresses in a shop. Try several combinations to determine what suits you best.
2. Don’t rush your decision
Finding your ideal level of support and cushioning takes time so test each bed for at least ten minutes. Lie in the position that you usually sleep in and turn over a few times.
3. Check the support
Vispring beds are available with four different spring tensions: soft, medium, firm and extra firm. An individual mattress can combine two adjacent tensions to accommodate both partners’ needs.

4. Measure your room
Buying the largest bed you can accommodate will reduce sleep disturbance. Vispring can make divans in sections to negotiate small doorways and narrow staircases.
5. Make an investment
You spend a third of your life in bed. A good night’s sleep will contribute to your longterm wellbeing, so it is well worth investing in the best bed possible.
