September 04, 2010

Nobody knows our luxurious suites better than our dedicated housekeeping teams so we asked them share their favourite with us. Will their interesting insights inspire you to try somewhere new next time you stay with us?

Coworth Park

Gardener’s East Cottage Suite

From the moment you open the gate you’re transported into a countryside haven. This one-of-a-kind suite has its own conservatory and a large patio with amazing views over our polo fields. There’s nothing more satisfying than an early morning, sitting on the patio in a sumptuous bathrobe with a cup of coffee, enjoying a beautiful sunrise over the picturesque horizon of rural Berkshire. This spacious suite is furnished with a magnificent four-poster bed, comfortable copper bath, and a fireplace for roaring log fires in winter. It’s an invitation to relax and unwind, right on nature’s doorstep.

Hotel Eden

Villa Medici Presidential Suite

This unique suite has the glorious feeling of a private Roman home, perfectly positioned in a tranquil oasis overlooking the majestic beauty of Rome. From here, far-reaching panoramic views stretch from the Vittoriano all the way to Villa Medici and the verdant Borghese Gardens. Just wait for the right light for that picture perfect moment. This suite above all others gives me a wonderful feeling, especially when I think of the many well-known guests who have chosen to stay here. I also enjoy my own star-like moment by singing the famous Italian song ‘Volare’ because I’m so happy to be here.

Le Meurice

Belle Etoile Penthouse Suite with Terrace

True to her name, the Belle Etoile Suite is quite simply beautiful. Every detail has been carefully considered to create a spectacular setting full of surprises. Just when you think it can’t possibly get any better, it’s time to step out onto its glorious terrace. Here you’re presented with one of the largest private terraces in Paris, featuring the finest 360˚view across all the major landmarks. When you see it for the first time, you really have to pinch yourself to know you’re not dreaming. I dare you not to be ‘wowed’ when you’re met with the whole of Paris stretching out before you.

Inside the private bungalows at The Beverley Hills Hotel
The Beverly Hills Hotel

Legendary Bungalow 1

All our bungalows have a very special feel but, for me, this suite really embodies the exceptional star treatment of staying at The Beverly Hills Hotel. No wonder it was Marilyn Monroe’s favourite, you can easily picture her feeling at home. I adore the feminine style of this newly restored suite and the secluded garden location. Thoughtful additions, like the CHANEL N°5 fragrance bar, mean staying here is living like real Hollywood royalty, and I’m sure Marilyn would approve of how beautiful it looks today.

Hotel Principe di Savoia

Principe Suite

Glamorous design, dramatic tones and absolute comfort are the key ingredients of this wonderful suite. There’s a strong sense of being an elegant apartment right in the city centre and it’s a personal favourite of mine because it gives you the unmistakable experience of true Milanese style. Interior designer Francesca Basu created the look to reflect her own love of Milan and this really shines through. She also used Maris Callas as her muse because she too had a passion for the finer things in life. The famous soprano opera singer would stay at Hotel Principe di Savoia whenever she performed at La Scala and I believe this suite is designed to make every heart sing.

The Dorchester

The Oliver Messel Suite

One thing is for sure, there’s no other suite like The Oliver Messel Suite, in London or anywhere else in the world. It has such a rich history and distinctive colour scheme. I love the intricate, quirky details hidden around the suite for guests to discover and delight in. Every time I visit, I find something I haven’t noticed before. All this, coupled with the most spectacular views from its own private terrace makes it the perfect suite for any occasion. For me, this is a little piece of history in an ever-changing city.

Hôtel Plaza Athénée

Haute Couture Eiffel Suite

I believe there’s no better expression of Parisian glamour than this sensational suite. Everywhere you turn there are elegant details hinting at its Haute Couture connections. I like to describe it as being unique as a bespoke, couture suit and just waiting for you to add your own dash of personality. It has a true apartment feeling with a separate living room overlooking the Eiffel Tower, perfectly framing this iconic landmark in all her glory. Trust me, being here at night when the tower sparkles is a moment you’ll treasure for a lifetime.

Hotel Bel-Air

Grace Kelly Suite

This is definitely my favourite suite because it reflects the wonderful way in which our guests are effortlessly woven into our story. Grace Kelly stayed at Hotel Bel-Air while filming some of her movies and drifted off to sleep in this very suite the night she won her Academy Award. The elegant and sophisticated décor reflects the ultimate in Hollywood glamour and to choose this suite is to be a part of our legendary history.

45 Park Lane

Park Lane Suite

I think you have the best the both worlds when you choose a Park Lane Suite. The views of London through the large wraparound windows give you an unparalleled vista, taking in both bustling Mayfair and the serenity of leafy Hyde Park. Our Negroni trolley experience is a 45 Park Lane staple and a wonderful way to settle in, sit back and appreciate the art original pieces in this contemporary Art Deco-style suite. This grand residence is as prestigious as its famous namesake and a firm favourite with many of our guests.
