Radiant Seasonal Skin Care Tips

December 09, 2021

As we move into the colder months, Valmont skincare expert Natasha Akbar Khan highlights great ways to nourish and care for your skin. Let’s get glowing.

Look after yourself

For many people the end of summer signifies a big adjustment. For me, it’s a time when I try to really look after myself and do things that make me feel good. This could be going for long walks surrounded by nature, eating healthy food and enjoying new pastimes. Another of the most important things to concentrate on is ensuring my skin feels clean, clear and well hydrated because when my skin feels good I feel I can take on the world.

1. Take time to tone

My first tip is to tone your skin, once in the morning and again before you go to bed. It takes next to no time so it’s a quick and easy step to add to your daily routine. It’s important because every time you wash your face you upset the natural balance of your skin. I use Valmont’s invigorating Vital Falls toner, which is made with natural glacial spring water from Switzerland. During the colder months, your skin can be more sensitive but the camomile and witch-hazel soothe any discomfort.

2. Frequent face masks

My second tip is to treat yourself to a weekly face mask. From the start of autumn right through to spring, I opt for a nourishing shea butter mask. My favourite one is Valmont’s Moisturizing with a Mask, which does exactly as it says. As soon as I’ve removed the mask, my skin feels super soft and really hydrated again.

3. Remember to massage

My final tip is not to underestimate the importance of massage. It’s wonderful to have a spa massage or facial, as these treatments are a luxurious way to boost your circulation and help keep skin looking radiant. However, you don’t need to wait until your next spa treatment as massage is an easy thing you can do at home. I like to pay particular attention to massaging in eye products. Every night I use Valmont’s Hydra3 Eye and spend a couple of minutes massaging it in around the contour of my eyes. I believe it helps to diminish dark circles and fine lines.

Return to radiance

Even if you only stick to just one of these regular steps, you can make a significant difference to how your skin looks and feels. Good skincare is essential to maintaining the nutrients your complexion needs and it helps you feel better too.
