The newly-restored Hotel Eden
Since reopening on April 1 this year, following a complete restoration, Hotel Eden is delighting guests and is quickly establishing itself as the place to be in Rome.
This quiet haven in the heart of the city offers elegant Roman-inspired interiors, exceptional cuisine served with intoxicating views at our La Terrazza and Il Giardino restaurants, a new La Libreria lobby bar and our first-ever spa.
‘Empress of the Eternal City’s upscale hotel scene’
Forbes Travel Guide
We’ve had plenty of rave reviews in leading magazines, newspapers and on social media. The ultimate praise comes from the prestigious Forbes Travel Guide saying, ‘With 128 years of history behind it, the Eden has reigned as Rome’s harbinger of luxury, so it’s no surprise that the 2017 reboot simply reinforces the property as Empress of the Eternal City’s upscale hotel scene. And it’s not just about a different look. Hotel Eden has opened the doors with a new mentality set to change the scope of Rome’s luxury hotels.’
Designers Patrik Jouin and Sanjit Manku’s are behind the captivating restyling of our restaurants and bar on the sixth floor.
Their inspiration for Il Giardino Restaurant & Bar project was drawn from the location of the hotel and its proximity to the Villa Borghese gardens, which can be seen from the hotel. The two designers wanted to play with the concept of ‘Eden’ and a garden feel, by bringing a sense of the outdoors into the hotel, creating a tranquil atmosphere that changes according to the time of day. The ideas were brought to life by local Italian craftsmen, working with the finest materials to create precisely the right feel.
La Terrazza features highly polished wood and elegant fabrics, inspired by the idea of a stylish Italian suit. The refined and sophisticated décor of Il Giardino has a nature-inspired wall and an attractive open-air terrace.
Both restaurants have spectacular unobscured views over Rome for a scenic dining experience.
Jouin Manku studio has a longstanding relationship with Dorchester Collection, as Patrick Jouin and Sanjit Manku designed restaurant Alain Ducasse au Plaza Athénée and Le Bar du Plaza Athénée in Paris, in 2006 and again in 2014. They also designed our Alain Ducasse at The Dorchester restaurant in London, in 2007.
