6 of LA’s most romantic places

April 26, 2022

Whether you’re a local or visiting from afar, Los Angeles has plenty of romantic locations to whisk your loved one away to. Let us inspire you with some of our favourites.

The Broad

The city’s spectacular contemporary art museum, known as The Broad, is situated in Downtown Los Angeles. Alongside a wealth of artworks, don’t miss the opportunity to surround yourselves with an array of twinkling lights in the form of Yayoi Kusama’s Infinity Mirrored Room – The Souls of Millions of Light Years Away. Following this immersive experience, head over to Grand Central Market for a romantic meal for two.

Beach life

Around ten miles northwest of Malibu you can discover the picturesque El Matador State Beach. This secluded collection of small cliff-foot bays offers views of some of the clearest water in LA. Widely considered one of the most romantic beaches in the city, this is a delightful spot to while away a leisurely afternoon.

Hollywood Bowl

A summer concert at the landmark Hollywood Bowl is always a memorable occasion. From symphonic pieces performed by the exceptionally talented LA Phil, to fun sing-a-longs followed by fireworks, there’s something for everyone. Pick up a picnic from The Oaks Gourmet and, where permitted, dine al fresco as you enjoy the show.

Sunset hike

The Griffith Observatory, affectionately known as southern California’s gateway to the cosmos, is always a remarkable sight to behold. Hike up here for incredible views across the city and spectacular sunsets. Inside the observatory let the planetarium transport you and your loved one to the farthest reaches of the universe.

Coastal rollerblading

Get kitted out with rollerblades and glide along the scenic coastline from Santa Monica to Venice. Join the locals as you soak up the sunshine on this eight-mile stretch, passing funfairs, street performers, sunbathers and surfers on the way. Having worked up an appetite, head to Abbot Kinney where you’ll be spoilt for choice with restaurants.
