Winter in Los Angeles

December 17, 2020

Lifestyle and Los Angeles are one and the same; see our sampling of life under the Californian sun starting with a relaxing moment with the celebrated swans on the lush grounds of Hotel Bel-Air.

The Swan Lake at Hotel Bel-Air

The Swan Lake at Hotel Bel-Air is the home of three beautiful white swans which float serenely amongst tropical greenery. Over 483 specimens of trees and more than 4,000 plants surround paths that weave through the hotel grounds for an incredible oasis.

Collective Constellation

A gathering of rising stars, ‘Collective Constellation: Selections from The Eileen Harris Norton Collection’ at Art + Practice draws from art collector and A+P co-founder Eileen Harris Norton’s collection, showcasing artworks by women of color. Pictured above is Carpal Tunneller (2013), a work by Lynette Yiadom-Boakye, British painter known for her portrayal of fictitious, mostly black, personas.

An extra special staycation

Hotel Bel-Air is determined to spoil its guests with ‘extra’ special offers to enrich one’s stay – without ever leaving hotel grounds or one’s room or suite, if desired. Experiences include: a bespoke picnic basket from Wolfgang Puck; a California market-inspired tasting menu for in-room or private patio dining; a create-your-own-cocktail trolley with necessary ingredients for mixing the hotel’s signature drink, Pepino’s Revenge or a selection of spa packages including invigorating aromatherapy treatments.

The Chaos Collection

Referring to the ‘chaotic’ layout of the stones, Asprey’s collection celebrates nonconformity and the beauty of the irregular. Pictured above, the Purple Chaos ring and Purple Chaos necklace in Amethyst and Kunzite.

Dog days at The Beverly Hills Hotel

Once again, fine art photographer Gray Malin teams up with The Beverly Hills Hotel. His subjects this time around? None other than man’s most lovable companion: dogs. Captured on the iconic grounds of the hotel, this photographic series portrays a furry fantasy world of over twenty different dog breeds in vintage cars, designer accessories, and tailor-made costumes at notable locations throughout the legendary property., @graymalin

Bungalow 9: Charlie Chaplin

The Beverly Hills Hotel’s bungalows are steeped in history as legendary hideaways for Hollywood royalty. The completion of a comprehensive restoration of its 21 bungalows is sealed with the last and latest, celebrating the world’s most famous silent screen star. Combining classic design with character pieces and movie palace architecture, the two-bedroom bungalow includes Chaplin-themed services and amenities. A film buff’s pure fantasy.
