Meet Celebrity facialist Sonya Dakar
We met facialist to the stars Sonya Dakar, to discover the secrets to looking good that have won her a huge celebrity following at her Beverly Hills skincare clinic. You also have your chance to meet her at Hotel Eden in Rome this October.
How it all started
Even as a small child I remember being fascinated by the way my mum would take care of her skin and regularly treat herself to facials. As soon as she would let me, I would accompany her to watch and learn. I realised at an early age that this is what I want to do ‒ to help people look and feel their best.
Living a lifestyle
Achieving glowing skin doesn’t happen on its own. I compare it to exercising, if you want a healthy body you need to do more than go to the gym, you need to eat well. The same with achieving great skin, I teach my clients the importance of maintaining a daily skincare regimen and looking after themselves. It does help though when they see immediate results, as this encourages them to keep up the good work.
My celebrity clients travel a lot which leads to fatigued and dehydrated skin. I advise them to drink plenty of water and keep my small Organic Omega Booster Oil in their bag and apply it every 3-4 hours. I also suggest sleeping with a rich overnight mask, such as our Organic Omega Overnight Sculpting Mask. It’s a wonderful way to wake up looking rejuvenated.
Desert island must-haves
I’m always being asked about the products that I couldn’t leave home without. If I imagine myself stranded on a desert island, it’s my three signature products I’d want by my side. That’s my Organic Omega Booster Oil for an immediate glow, followed by my Buriti Facial Cleanser for quick cleansing and nourishing the skin. Last but not least, Flash Facial because it’s a one-minute facial giving brighter skin in just 60 seconds!
