New experiences at The Dorchester
October 29, 2020
Introducing Guest Experiences
Our role is to ensure that every guest’s stay goes smoothly, so we are delighted by the diverse range of new experiences recently introduced for them to enjoy at The Dorchester. This has been a challenging year for everyone, so what better time to launch some fun and safe ways to make the most of all that our incredible hotel and its people have to offer. Let us guide you through the complimentary activities, led by our team of truly talented experts in their field.

Meet our historian
Take a stroll down memory lane with The Dorchester’s very own historian, Chris Astbury. As the keeper of our archive there’s little that Chris doesn’t know about The Dorchester’s long and illustrious history. Let him show you some of our famous signature suites and event spaces and enthral you with the stories behind them, before taking a short tour of Mayfair’s best-known streets. With Chris as your personal guide, you’ll be an expert in no time and able to impress your friends and family with your newfound knowledge.

Flowers for all occasions
Our resident designer florist, Phil Hammond, has just started a series of inspiring floral demonstrations with his wonderfully creative team. Learn how to build a beautiful bouquet and create the perfect arrangement for any occasion. You’ll get to see some of their fabulous displays around the hotel, including the enormous urns that provide the perfect backdrop to our famous afternoon tea. He’ll also introduce you to our very own The Dorchester Rose and share the story of its creation.

More on the menu
Our chefs will also be sharing their culinary skills. Don an apron and chef’s hat and join them in the kitchen to conjure up one of their classic dishes for yourself, such as their popular Norfolk chicken leg with black truffle ravioli. Alternatively, take a tour of our wine cellar with master sommelier, followed by a British cheese tasting session, perfectly paired with a series of wines designed to complement the cheese. His wine wisdom and wonderful storytelling make it a truly memorable experience.
