From the breathtakingly beautiful façade, to the incredible courtyard and enchanting restaurants, Hôtel Plaza Athénée is an Instagrammer’s dream come true. Here’s a selection of just some of our most photogenic locations.
Feature our façade
This is a hotel that was made to be photographed. From the moment you arrive at Hôtel Plaza Athénée you know you’re somewhere special. Our eye-catching red awnings and bright red geraniums lend wonderful splashes of colour that look great from any angle.
Top tip
Position yourself by the entrance to Terrasse Montaigne and, keeping the camera level with your eye, shoot along the street getting the hotel at an angle. Another idea is to cross the street to give yourself a little more space to work with and ensure you get the whole hotel in your photo.
Capture the courtyard
La Cour Jardin looks beautiful at any time of day but it’s worth coming back at different times to see how the light changes and the effect this has on your photos. The seasons also make a difference, in summer there’s far more lush greenery and in winter our ice-skating rink takes centre stage.
Top tip
If you stay in one of our rooms or suites overlooking the courtyard you’ll enjoy not only a haven of tranquility but also a great view from above for some impressive photos. Alternatively, when you’re standing in the courtyard, position yourself right in the middle and take a photo looking straight up to sky for an image with wonderful symmetry.
Take the stairs
From the right angle our main staircase looks to have an infinite number of floors, making it one of the hotel’s most Instagrammable spots. It’s amazing what a slight difference in the angle can make to a photo like this so be sure to take a few variations.
Top tip
For added interest and a different perspective, position someone on the fourth or fifth floor of the staircase and take your photo from the sixth floor looking down.
Fashionably framed
Imagine capturing the beauty of Paris within your own private picture frame. Well from our oh-so-elegant Haute Couture Eiffel Suite you can. Whether you want a beautiful border, a classic city shot or an ornate framed portrait of yourself, this is the place to be.
Top tip
Consider your framing so you can capture both a wonderful portrait and the glorious Eiffel Tower in one memorable shot.
Iconic landmark shot
Another of our luxurious suites offering a particularly splendid view is our Signature Eiffel Suite. This suite has its own roof terrace offering a 360-degree view from the Eiffel Tower all the way over to Montmartre.

Make yourself at home and make the most of this moment, as you’ll be spoilt for choice with so many angles and beautiful backdrops to choose from.
View you’ll never forget
We love that our guests never tire of our privileged view of the tree-lined avenue of Haute Couture and the majestic Eiffel Tour, creating an iconic backdrop to their photos. Each one is different depending on the angle and the seasons, and each image special in its own unique way.
Top tip
To capture the best light and a memorable moment, why not enjoy breakfast on your balcony as the sun comes up or celebrate a spectacular sunset with a glass of champagne.
Get your skates on
In winter, enjoy a secluded winter wonderland in our charming courtyard on a picture perfect ice-skating rink. Framed by twinkling lights and beautifully decorated Christmas trees, it’s a magical setting well worth taking a twirl for.
Top tip
Our ice rink is usually reserved for children only but if you ask our front office team they can help make your wish come true.
