Thierry Hernandez

After perfecting his skills in the bar of a leading luxury hotel in Paris and gaining experience in every sector relating to food and drinks in Scotland, at Gleneagles, one of the Leading Hotels of the World, Thierry Hernandez began work at the Plaza Athénée as a barman.

In 2001, when the hotel opened a bar designed by Patrick Jouin who had previously worked with Philippe Stark, Thierry Hernandez became its Director.Since then he has continued to innovate and create in a manner that is a perfect reflection of the elegant bar combining contemporary design with 18th-century panelling which is a historic monument in its own right.
This is why the bar in the Plaza Athénée boasts the most audacious, creative cocktails, served by Thierry Hernandez and his team who uphold the legendary levels of service for which the Plaza Athénée is so famous.
The emblematic Director of the Bar at the Plaza Athénée has been instrumental in building up the reputation of this outstanding venue and, for more than five years now, it has been popular with the jet set and fashionistas from all over the world.
