True to its heritage and passion for art, Le Meurice has always been associated with creativity and design. In 2008, inspired by general manager Franka Holtmann, Le Meurice founded the Meurice Prize for contemporary art, and in doing so asserted its support of young artists. This act of corporate patronage is a non-profit initiative, which each year provides financial support to help an artist gain international recognition. The Meurice Prize for contemporary art is an international award with an endowment of €20,000. It concerns all artistic disciplines including painting, sculpture, installation, photography and video. The prize is always awarded to both the artist and their gallery and is announced two weeks before the FIAC contemporary art fair in Paris.
