Dorchester Collection
Nine iconic addresses, nine extraordinary hotels, one unique collection.
Steeped in cultural history, our collection has a special alchemy that is created between our remarkable properties and the people who inhabit them.
Hallmarks of good living, refined elegance and bespoke service, our hotels embody the destinations they’re in, taking you on a journey of discovery and adventure.
From Hotel Eden becoming the first hotel in Rome to offer conveniences such as lifts and electricity in 1889 to The Dorchester hosting post World War II royal charity balls in London – our heritage is deeply rooted in the historic fabric of some of the most remarkable cities in the world.
Our hotels are the living, timeless actors that have helped to shape the history of their respective locations. Each with a unique story to tell, they represent their cities’ past and present, substance and style, and most importantly – their people.
Brought together as part of the Dorchester Collection family in 2006, when Dorchester Collection was formed, the group now includes nine iconic hotels.
‘By our people, for our guests’ is at the heart of everything we do. We take enormous pride in our rooms and interiors but our people are the real reason guests come back to Dorchester Collection hotels, through their commitment to uncompromising service.
Feel at home the moment you arrive – be part of our Dorchester Collection family, whatever your story. In a world of fast technological advances, we’re focused on nurturing one-on-one relationships and living by core human values in all our operations:
Dorchester Collection is a group of nine autonomously run hotels managed by an experienced team led by our CEO Christopher Cowdray. With 30+ years in hotel management and an unwavering passion for hospitality, Cowdray ensured the group’s success in establishing itself as a top player in the luxury hotel market following the formation of Dorchester Collection in 2006. An ardent hotelier and a savvy top manager, Cowdray is the ultimate guardian of the group’s culture and business values.
We are a team of people representing 67 nationalities, who love what we do and care enormously for our guests and communities – it’s our staff who receive the most compliments from guests. With an exceptional employee satisfaction rate of 90%, we continue to look for ways to improve the Dorchester Collection experience for our people – and our guests. The Dorchester Collection Code of Conduct sets out our key work practices, including our commitment to non-discrimination, diversity and equal opportunities.
Dorchester Collection recognises the impact we make on society, the economy and the planet, and we’re committed to making a positive difference in the places where we operate. We practise corporate responsibility through fair treatment of our people, responsiveness to the needs of our guests, and environment-friendly and ethical business practices. We do not tolerate any form of discrimination. We’re proud to be a Stonewall Champion and that half of our senior executives are women.
