We’re not just a luxury hotel in Paris’s 8th arrondissement. We’re the hotel that made avenue Montaigne, Paris’s famous avenue of couture, what it is.

Hôtel Plaza Athénée opened at 25 avenue Montaigne in 1913. Its glamorous world enticed a trickle of designers throughout the 1920s – but it was in 1946, when Christian Dior opened his very first boutique at number 30, that the street became synonymous with the very best of luxury fashion.

This wasn’t a coincidence. Dior loved the Plaza Athénée, and chose this location (as he did everything) with precision, knowing that our guests were the people he needed to impress. He paid homage to Hôtel Plaza Athénée in many ways, but perhaps the most enduring is his iconic Bar suit – named after Le Bar.

Today, we’re the Paris Fashion Week location people return to season after season. The fittings, the last-minute adjustments, the conversations that continue from the front row to the lobby: they all pass through here. Paris Fashion Week is when we’re at our most alive.

Designers, editors, stylists, models and photographers cross paths here in ways that feel accidental, until you realise it happens every season. People gather at Plaza Athénée not by invitation, but by instinct.
