The Bel-Air Picnic

A picnic is one of life’s simple pleasures, and with our tranquil Swan Lake and countless beautiful spots on the doorstep, there’s no better way to enjoy your own al fresco feast. Wolfgang Puck and his team have created a gourmet menu for hotel guests to enjoy their own picnic basket, including a choice of artisanal cheeses, charcuterie, sandwiches, seasonal pastries and more. The experience comes complete with dining trays, blanket and plush pillows.

Families

At Hotel Bel-Air we want to offer your whole family the opportunity for maximum fun, including some time spent exploring and learning. Our unique five-star hotel, spread across 12 acres of lush gardens, is a child’s paradise. Your little gardener can even experience the unique sound of a hummingbird going past, or view the many different types of birds living on property. Our resident swans are a joy to watch as they swim in our very own Swan Lake. Hotel Bel-Air is truly nature’s paradise. And then, when hunger steps in, our splendid afternoon tea has a special children’s version called the Little Royal’s Tea, complete with a cuddly toy swan of their own.

The VIP treatment

We’re pleased to welcome up to two small dogs (max 7kg/15lbs) at a cost of $35 per day. And we’ll treat them like royalty, with a comfortable bed, bowl and tasty treats throughout their stay.

We do ask that pets remain in your room while you visit our restaurant, bar or spa, and that they’re kept on a leash or carrier when moving around the hotel. The hotel will not be able to service your room if a pet is in the room without a guest present. Our concierge team can arrange a pet sitter if you need one – just give us 24 hours’ notice.

We’re sure they’ll be on their best behaviour, but please take responsibility for cleaning up after your dog(s) and minimising barking. You will be charged for any pet-related damages. There is no additional charge for service animals and they are welcome throughout the hotel.

Please note that with the exception of service animals, pets are not allowed at our restaurant, bar, spa or gym. Should you have a service animal and choose to dine in our restaurant or bar, they must be on a leash and remain on the floor at all times.

The pool

For over 75 years, the signature oval-shaped pool has been the focal point of life at Hotel Bel-Air. Once a former horse riding ring for the Bell estate, the swimming pool is surrounded by hanging palms and cascading blooms. As the temperature rises, guests are refreshed with hourly, seasonal ‘pop-up refreshments’ such as:

Ice cream sundae – served in a bite-sized waffle cup
Chocolate-dipped banana coins – thinly sliced banana dipped in white and dark chocolate
Frozen grape skewers
Push pops – farmers’ market fresh fruit sorbets (alcoholic and non-alcoholic)
Mini lemonade slush
Granita – pineapple, lemon, strawberry
Sunglasses cleaning and luxurious skincare products courtesy of Hotel Bel-Air Spa are also available, including sunscreen lotion and soothing tonic. Poolside cuisine presented by Wolfgang Puck at Hotel Bel-Air. Lunch, snacks and an array of specialty cocktails may also be enjoyed in this ideal setting.

Complimentary transportation

Hotel Bel-Air is located just off Sunset Boulevard in Bel-Air, only a few minutes from Beverly Hills, Brentwood, Westwood, and West Hollywood. From 8am to 9pm daily, we offer complimentary transportation within a three-mile radius of the hotel.

Our luxury house car will shuttle you in comfort and luxury. We also have a car dedicated to visiting our sister property, The Beverly Hills Hotel and Bungalows, if you’re in the mood for the Polo Lounge, the vintage 1950s Fountain Coffee Room or poolside at The Cabana Cafe.

The courtesy car will drop off and pick up within a three-mile radius of the hotel. The car is available on a first come, first serve basis and cannot be pre-reserved. Please call the doorman prior to your excursion to check availability.
