This is the legendary LA hideaway, famous for playing host and friend to Hollywood royalty for over a century. From the deals made in the Polo Lounge to the romances lived out in the secluded bungalows, this has been Tinsel Town’s playground since Beverly Hills was born.
The Beverly Hills Hotel opened on May 12, 1912 - before the city even existed - for people to stay in while looking at property to buy in the area. The original owner, and founder of The Beverly Hills Hotel was Margaret Anderson. Her motto was, “Guests are entitled to the best of everything regardless of cost!”
Our signature palm print walls have sparked a global trend! The Martinique® banana leaf wallpaper was created in 1942 by CW Stockwell and used by designer Don Loper in 1949 when the hotel was renovated. It’s since become an iconic symbol of this unique building, and one of the most recognisable wallpapers in the world.
The hotel was first painted its distinctive pink back in 1948 to complement the sunset and popular country style of the time. The hotel has affectionately been known as the ‘Pink Palace’ ever since.
The Crescent Wing was built in 1949 and designed by renowned architect Paul R. Williams, who also reimagined the Polo Lounge, Fountain Coffee Room and lobby.
