Le Meurice

Fondation Cartier's grand reopening

On October 25, Fondation Cartier opened its new site in a landmark building on the historic Place du Palais-Royal.

In the heart of the capital and right across from the Louvre, the new space is cleverly designed to adapt to a variety of artworks and exhibitions. Its inaugural show is titled Exposition Générale: a celebration of the Fondation’s grand reopening and a reflection of its history, the exhibition features nearly 600 works by more than 100 artists and retraces the Fondation’s identity from its beginnings in 1984 to today. Shaped by four decades of exhibits, the collection includes a wonderful array of art, architecture, technology and science.

Mere steps from Le Meurice, enjoy an afternoon wandering through the sweeping arches of the Fondation’s beautiful Haussmannian building and admiring its amazing collection of contemporary art.
