Le Meurice

The Grand Palais presents Matisse’s final work

An exceptional exhibition dedicated to the vibrant and renowned artwork of Henri Matisse is on display at the majestic Grand Palais.

A showcase of the artist’s final years, Matisse. 1941 – 1954 features a rich collection of paintings, drawings, illustrated books, textiles, stained glass and Matisse’s universally loved gouache paper cut-outs.

In a technique that the artist called “drawing with scissors”, simple abstract forms and organic shapes burst with bright, vivid colours that are a true delight to look at.

From the brilliant, curvaceous blue figures in the Nus Bleu series to the pops of sparkly yellow stars in Icarus, Matisse’s work evokes a wonderful sense of playfulness and joy.

And all just a short stroll from Le Meurice. Now's the perfect time to plan your visit.
